Shop and stroll through the stone arcades

Shopping in Murten is a fun and leisurely affair. Stroll through the shady arcades, browse around the small shops, enjoy a delicious coffee with a ‘Nidlechueche’ sweet pastry, then continue your stroll.  Fashion boutiques, wine merchants, watch and jewellery ateliers, delicatessens, bakeries, confectioners and chocolatiers offer their specialities from Murten and the surrounding area. A number of charming markets are held in the old town throughout the year (the May market, St Martin’s market, the Christmas market and, of course, the weekly Saturday market).
